Massage Services
My massages are a unique blend of several different techniques. If a modality below says "included", it is incorporated into every massage. |
Swedish Massage
(The "zone out" massage)
Swedish
massage is the most common and well known massage modality. It's
smooth, flowing style uses firm but gentle pressure to promote
relaxation, ease muscle tension, improve ciculation and range of
movement, and create harmony throughout the body.
Swedish massage blends together a combination of strokes, but focuses on two basic ones: efflourage (long and flowing)
and petrissage (a kneading of the muscles).

minutes)
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep
tissue massage targets the deep connective tissue,
focusing on the release of muscle tension and knots, chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive
strain, and postural problems.
The strokes used in a deep tissue massage are similar to those used in a Swedish massage, but with much more pressure. The elbows and forearms are used as helpful tools to greatly enhance the depth.
($70/60 minutes, $80/75 minutes, $90/90 minutes)
Reflexology
Reflexology involves applying pressure to certain points
on the foot that correspond to organs and systems in the body, creating balance and triggering healing.
Reflexology is very relaxing, especially for people
who stand on their feet all day or just have tired, achy feet. Although
most often it is associated with only the feet, reflexology can
also be performed on the hands and ears!

Acupressure
Acupressure
is an Oriental-based system of finger pressure massage that treat
points along the acupressure meridians, aiming to release discomfort
and rebalance energy.
I apply localized
pressure on the meridian points and any other areas that may have tension, and encourage my clients to retain their breath while I retain the pressure. As they release their breath, the tension is also released.

Lomi-Lomi Massage
Lomi-Lomi (meaning simply "massage" in the Hawaiian language), uses the
forearms as well as the hands to weave together graceful and flowing strokes in a healing and relaxing dance.
This massage is given in a fluid, rhythmic motion, accentuated with a very loving touch of the aloha spirit. Some people have described the feeling of lomi as gentle waves moving over the body.
(Included)
Assisted Stretching
This
technique allows one to perform stretches that would otherwise be
difficult or impossible.
Assisted stretching requires no effort on behalf of the
person receiving the stretch, allowing them to fully relax, breathe deeply, and focus on the
feeling, positioning and depth of the stretch. This allows for a deeper, more
effective stretch, resulting in an increased range of motion and greater flexibility.
(Included)
Cranial Sacral
This
is a technique that seeks to restore the natural rhythmic movement
found among the bones of the skull. It does the same for the movements
of the sacrum, which is the bone at the base of the spine.
The purpose of this is to aid the circulation of the
cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system. It can
be an intense experience, simultaneously
subtle and profound, and often leads to release in the neck.

Sports Massage
A sports massage is a good choice if you have a specific problem. It was designed for athletes, but is useful for anyone with chronic pain, injuries, or restricted range-of-motion.
Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. I will concentrate on a specific problem area, or the muscles
relevant to the particular athletic activity, for the full alloted time.
($60/60 minutes, $70/75 minutes, $80/90 minutes)
Pregnancy Massage
A pregnant woman's body is challenged, changed and stressed in many ways. Massage is very helpful in reducing the aches and pains, swelling, stress hormones, anxiety, and depression
triggered by pregnancy.
Touch is vital to the mother's physical and emotional well-being
as she adapts to her new body image. Massage gives her special attention, which in turn nurtures
the new life that grows within her. A relaxed mother-to-be will likely have an easier and healthier
pregnancy, and perhaps even an easier delivery!
($60/60 minutes, $70/75 minutes, $80/90 minutes)
*Pregnancy massage is not recommended for high-risk pregnancies. Reflexology and deep tissue work will also be avoided.*
Hot Stones
Massage:
Massage itself is deeply relaxing,
improves circulation, and loosens tight muscles, but the addition of
smooth, heated stones will enhance those effects.
I will place the warm stones on certain areas of the body, and will also hold them in my hands as I employ massage strokes. This allows me to work deeply without using so much pressure. Cold stones are placed over the eyes, and on swollen or inflamed areas.
($100/60 minutes, $110/75 minutes, $120/90 minutes)
Couples Massage
Couple's
massage it a wonderful way to share an itimate, healing experience with
a loved one. It is also a great way to introduce a partner who has
never
gotten a massage before in a way that makes them feel more comfortable
the first time.
Couples massage can be for lovers, moms and daughters, or best friends. Whomever you decide to bring, my colleague and I will be here to accommodate you both.

4 Hands Massage:
If you
desire a greater 'intensity' of pleasure level, a Four Handed Massage
is definitely recommended. The client is attended to by two therapists
simultaneously.
The amount of
muscle relaxation and attention received by the client will double with a Four Handed Massage. It has been known to relieve patients from
a variety of physical disorders, as it effectively increases the blood
flow on two separate parts of the body.
