What to expect on your first visit...
The Space
I
have a private practice studio in my home, where
I have created a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment,
that promotes healing, comfort, and
serenity.
Blaizing Lotus offers the oasis of a spa without the inflated spa
prices, the professionalism of a clinic without the "clinical"
atmoshere, and a warmness and personal connection that wouldn't be
possible without a private practice.
*Shower is available upon request.*
The Oil
If an
oil or an ingredient is not something you'd want to eat, you probably
don't want to put it on your skin either, seeing that oils are a
perfect medium for penetrating the skin's semi-permeable barrier and go
directly into your bloodstream. So, I make sure that I am using healthy,
organic, often edible oils.
My
all time favorite is organic, unrefined, cold-pressed, extra virgin
coconut oil.
Since this is a natural saturated fat from a plant source, it is a
heavy oil and is solid at room temperature, so I have to heat it up
to melt it before hand. However, its very soft, delightful scent and its
multitude of
benefits for the skin make it very much worth the extra effort. All
massage products (and most spa products) used at Blaizing Lotus are
guaranteed organic.
*Unscented oils and creams are also available upon request.*
The Music
I
have a really nice variety of blissful massage music, ranging from
flutes to classical to chanting to world music to soft instrumentals to
new age. It's basically up to you, and if you don't care, then it's up
to me!
Feel free to bring music (CD's or IPOD) of your choice and I would be glad to play it for you. Bring whatever relaxes you...the higher your comfort level, the more benefits you walk away with!
The Water
Drinking water
in general is a good idea, as the body benefits greatly from proper
hydration. (Disease cannot exist in a body that is adequately
hydrated.)
Hydrating before a massage makes it easier me to perform deep work by hydrating the muscles so that they are easier to manipulate.
Hydrating after a massage is recommended because the manipulation of the muscles depletes them of water and electrolytes. It also stirs up substances stored in the muscles, such as metabolic wastes and lactic acid, which might build up if they aren't swept away. Drinking water helps to rehydrate the muscles and flush out the toxins, which greatly reduces the potential for headaches, muscle pain and soreness in the days following a massage.
The Experience
Being
someone that loves massage myself, I know as a
receiver that it is very apparent when someone loves what they do. It
enhances the quality of the massage tremendously!
I truly love to massage, and this transfers into my work. My little secret: As a healer, I receive the benefits as well! I am very grateful I have massage as a healing outlet.
I intend to provide you with a powerful yet relaxing therapeutic experience that you truly deserve, leaving you with not only more comfort in your body, but also a melting sensation of peace, confidence and willingness to take on whatever life has to offer!
